Call For Poster Presentations

The Cape Cod Symposium on Addictive Disorders (CCSAD) is soliciting proposals for poster sessions during the 2008 Symposium to be held in Hyannis, MA on Cape Cod. Dates of the poster sessions during the symposium will be Friday, September 5 and Saturday, September 6, 2008.

Poster sessions are limited to graduate students and to professionals who have received their terminal degree within the past five years. Poster sessions may include basic science or clinically related study findings. Proposals will be reviewed for their scientific merit and relevance to the treatment of substance use disorders. Posters should be designed for display on standard 4 by 8 foot boards and be legible at a distance of at least two feet.

Submissions must include an abstract of the study briefly covering: background, methods, results, and conclusions. The suggested length for abstracts is approximately 350 words. Include a brief paragraph on the presenter or lead presenter, if there are multiple authors, stating the university, department, and program if currently enrolled for graduate studies or the same information plus date of graduation for those who have received a terminal degree. Submission of additional materials, such as greater details of the study, references, and Power Point graphics, is recommended. Sufficient materials should be provided for reviewers to understand the nature of the study and the merits of the work reported. Send submission materials via e-mail to deemcgraw@ameritech.net.

The Deadline for submissions is Friday, April 25, 2008.
Notification of acceptance will be made in early July 2008.

No funds are available for travel or expenses for poster sessions, but presenters will be provided complementary admission to all conference presentations including the opportunity to earn continuing education credits. CCSAD provides approved continuing education credits for physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and counselors. CCSAD draws more than 700 attendees from throughout the United States as well as some foreign countries. Complementary admissions to the symposium are limited to two presenters per poster session.
